A smart cube connects to an app on your phone with Bluetooth. The app tracks every turn. It can time your solves, show them back to you, and let you race other cubers.
Are they worth it? They are fun, and the app can teach you a lot. But you don't need one to get fast. A normal $9 cube works just as well for practice.
